Personalized Books for Children
Personalized
books for children are one of the best gifts that you can give a young child,
baby, or a friend at a baby shower, and I can say this from experience. When I
was very young, possibly four or five, my mother bought me a personalized book
in which little Ross and his baby brother become conductors on a train. That
simple gift not only gave me immense joy then, but is still a treasured family
possession, and I now read it to my own child.
Reading and books in general have always been a very large part of my family
tradition. I started teaching my own children to read even before I enrolled
them in school. I did this from personalized books that I bought them, after
remembering the joy that I received out of that simple gift that my parents gave
me. It is hard to imagine the joy that a young child feels when they see that
they're not reading about someone else; now they are reading about themselves! I
think that that gift that I gave them might even have encouraged them to learn
to read. Now they don't need daddy to tell them what the books says.
Now, today, I am happy that I got that gift and that I gave it to my children. I
still have mine in the large bookcase in my den, and I am sure that my children,
once they grow old enough, will keep theirs. They will read it to their children
and be able to pass on the gift of words the same way that I did. Reading a
story before bed forms a bond that lasts a lifetime, and can be made even more
special with personalized books for children.
